Setup
Put the map on your website in 5 steps: (For your reference, here's a simple working page that uses all the elements described and should resemble a stripped-down version of your final page.)
If you need help, just get in touch!
- Copy a javascript file (available to download from this page) and paste it into the same directory on your server as the webpage on which you wish to display your property map. Also copy this file (which retrieves your data) and rename it from "getdata.php.txt" to "getdata.php". Again, paste this into the same directory.
- Collect a key from Google Maps. To do this, read and agree to the terms and conditions and enter the web address of the website you intend to have your map displayed. (Note that your web address is required because this key makes sure your website is the only one on which the map is displayed - i.e. so no one else will use your key on another site.)
- Copy the key you're given into the field below to generate some code to put into your webpage.
- The first bit of code to paste into your webpage will appear below once step 3 is complete.
- The second bit of code to paste into your webpage doesn't replace any existing tags, but needs to be placed between the <body> and </body> tags.
